BGH2A Statement on the Draft Law on the Promotion of Electric Mobility

The Bulgarian Association for Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Energy Storage (BGH2A) has submitted an official statement to the Ministry of Innovation and Growth regarding the Draft Law on the Promotion of Electric Mobility. The draft legislation, currently open for public consultation until 1 October 2025, invites comments, opinions, and recommendations.

In its statement, BGH2A calls for the scope of the law to be expanded to include vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells (FCEVs) as well as the necessary hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The Association’s recommendations are aligned with the latest European regulations and standards.

The position paper outlines specific arguments and legislative proposals to support the diversification of low-emission technologies, ensure technological neutrality, and create favorable conditions for investment. BGH2A also emphasizes that fuel cell electric vehicles powered by hydrogen are zero-emission, producing no CO₂ or toxic substances during operation, and can play a significant role in achieving Bulgaria’s climate and decarbonization goals.
