Electorlyser factory opens in Estonia
Stargate Hydrogen has officially opened its new alkaline electrolyser factory in Tallinn, Estonia, taking an important step on the path to developing a hydrogen economy. The EU-backed facility initially targets 140MW of systems annually but is designed to scale up to over 1GW in future phases with minimal additional investment.
What sets Stargate apart is its modular approach – a strategy to ramp up production gradually in line with real customer demand. Impressively, the company reports that the factory’s output is already fully booked until the end of 2025, with orders coming from Europe, the Middle East, Türkiye, and India.
“Facilities like this and the material innovation undertaken by Stargate are exactly what we need to build the hydrogen economy in Europe”, said Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe, at the inauguration ceremony on June 6, which was also attended by Estonia’s Prime Minister, Kristen Michal.
As Europe’s hydrogen market accelerates, Stargate’s new facility is a testament to the industry’s dynamic growth—and its readiness to deliver green solutions to the world.

H2 race car sets the pace for a greener motorsport
The hydrogen revolution is shifting into high gear – literally! The Extreme H’s hydrogen rally car – Pioneer 25 – hit the dirt for final testing in Fontjoncouse, in the south of France.
The 550-horsepower machine was labelled “a proper race car” by the drivers Molly Taylor and Kevin Hansen. Despite weighing 2.2 tons, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 200 km/h… emitting only pure water vapor!
Could hydrogen rallying accelerate the adoption of clean fuel technologies? Time will tell, but the power of hydrogen engines is already causing excitement in the automotive world...and we are really looking forward to the first-ever-off-road hydrogen racing World Cup – FIA Extreme H World Cup – later this year!

Toyota Gazoo Racing to highlight Hydrogen at Le Mans!
Toyota Gazoo Racing is set to showcase its hydrogen fuel cell innovations at the upcoming legendary race – Le Mans 24 Hours, highlighting the potential of hydrogen-powered motorsport on a global stage. This event is expected to attract significant attention to the future of clean racing technology.
As history shows, many innovations in the auto industry first emerged from the racetrack – an ideal stage to introduce new technical concepts to the public.
Exciting to see Toyota taking bold steps toward a carbon-neutral future, using this prestigious event to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions.
The race organizers have made sure to showcase hydrogen in mobility with an entire hydrogen “village”! -The ACO H2 Village is a special area organized by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) to highlight the role of hydrogen in the future of racing.
Toyota is participating with its awesome Mirai sedan, a cargo bike powered by portable hydrogen cartridges, and a hydrogen bus, which also serves as a mobile phone charging station for fans, demonstrating the potential of hydrogen for clean, mobile energy solutions.
