From June 23 to 25, 2026, Munich will host HYDROGEN DIALOGUE in a new format integrated into The smarter E Europe – Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry.
The event is aimed at national and international participants from industry, science and politics and is held under the patronage of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. After several successful editions in Nuremberg, HYDROGEN DIALOGUE is moving to Munich this year and becoming part of the broader ecosystem of The smarter E Europe.
New Format: Hydrogen Dialogue Forum & Expo
Hydrogen Dialogue Forum & Expo is the revamped hydrogen exhibition area of ees Europe, which takes place as part of The smarter E Europe. The focus is on new technologies and hydrogen projects – from electrolysers and fuel cells to storage and infrastructure solutions.
The new format connects hydrogen with renewable electricity generation, energy storage and industrial applications. In this way, the event places hydrogen technologies within the broader context of the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the economy.
Who the Event Is Aimed At
Hydrogen Dialogue Forum & Expo is aimed at international:
- project developers,
- EPC companies,
- planners and engineers,
- investors,
- suppliers of ready-to-deploy hydrogen technologies.
This makes the event particularly valuable for organisations seeking practical solutions, new partnerships and access to current projects and market opportunities.
Forum, Exhibition and a New Conference
In addition to the exhibition area and the accompanying forum programme, the format also includes the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Summit, which will take place on June 24 and 25, 2026 at ICM München.
The event will offer a new type of format focused on discussions, networking and project planning. It is positioned as the central conference dedicated to hydrogen and will bring together international decision-makers from industry, politics and the energy sector.
Hydrogen as a Strategic Response
The organisers place the event in the context of Europe’s growing challenges: congested electricity grids in southern Germany, the rapid expansion of photovoltaic systems, pressure on the competitiveness of European industry, and the EU’s need to reconcile the climate targets of the Green Deal with a new geopolitical reality.
Against this backdrop, hydrogen is emerging as a key part of the strategic discussion on the future of energy and industry. That is why the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Summit aims to bring together institutions, businesses and technology companies in one place to discuss realistic and applicable solutions.
Patronage and Political Support
Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, will continue to serve as patron of HYDROGEN DIALOGUE following its integration under the umbrella of The smarter E Europe. He will also open the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Summit on June 24, 2026.
With this commitment, Bavaria underlines the strategic importance of hydrogen for southern Germany as an industrial region, as well as the region’s growing role as an international hub for innovation and business in the energy sector.
International Programme and Participation Opportunities
This year’s edition also includes a dedicated programme for international delegations, organised by Bayern International and Hydrogen Center Bavaria (H2.B) in cooperation with Solar Promotion. The aim is to connect international guests from the hydrogen industry with Bavarian and other international stakeholders.
The opportunities available to delegations include:
- discovering Bavarian hydrogen technologies and solutions at the exhibition;
- taking part in organised guided tours;
- presenting in a pitching format for networking purposes;
- free access to the entire The smarter E Europe exhibition;
- free access to the forums, including a three-day English-language programme at the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Forum;
- free tickets for the HYDROGEN DIALOGUE Summit;
- the possibility to organise their own side events and meetings.
The Scale of The smarter E Europe
The integration of HYDROGEN DIALOGUE into The smarter E Europe gives participants the opportunity to gain a broader perspective on the sustainable energy industry. The format brings together Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe, while the organisers expect more than 2,800 exhibitors and over 100,000 visitors.
This makes participation in HYDROGEN DIALOGUE not only a specialised hydrogen event, but also a gateway to the wider European energy ecosystem.
Why the Event Deserves Attention
HYDROGEN DIALOGUE 2026 clearly shows that hydrogen is no longer being viewed in isolation, but as part of an interconnected system that includes renewable energy, storage, industry and infrastructure. This integration is precisely where the new format in Munich derives its greatest value.
For companies, investors, project teams and institutions, this is an opportunity to navigate the latest technological solutions, build new partnerships and position their initiatives at the heart of the European conversation on hydrogen.
More information about the programme and participation opportunities is available on the official event website.
