The Clean Hydrogen Partnership has launched its 2026 Call for Proposals, making €105 million available under the Horizon Europe programme to accelerate the deployment of clean hydrogen technologies across Europe and strengthen European industrial leadership.
The funding aims to support projects that bring innovations closer to market – ranging from renewable hydrogen production and advanced storage solutions to the deployment of fuel cells in heavy-duty transport and the maritime sector.
A total of €25 million is earmarked for Hydrogen Valleys, supporting regional ecosystems that integrate hydrogen production, distribution and end uses.
Funding under the call is allocated in line with the key priorities of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, as follows:
€16 million – Renewable hydrogen production
€17.5 million – Hydrogen storage and distribution
€25 million – Transport
€16 million – Heat and power
€5.5 million – Cross-cutting activities
€25 million – Hydrogen Valleys

Project proposals must be submitted via the EU Funding and Tenders Portal no later than 15 April 2026, 17:00 (CEST).
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership will host an Information Day in Brussels on 21 January. More information is available on the dedicated call pages on the Clean Hydrogen Partnership website.
Notably, the 2026 programme places a strong emphasis on technology upscaling, whereas in 2025 funding was primarily directed towards the development of novel solutions and storage technologies. In addition, last year included a dedicated €80 million budget line under the REPowerEU plan to support the development of Hydrogen Valleys.
