Hyundai Reports Strong Sales of the New NEXO

Hyundai has announced impressive sales figures for its new hydrogen SUV – the NEXO, with 1,001 units sold in August alone. This represents a 203% increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring the strong market interest in a model that offers long range, fast refueling, and zero emissions.

The success of the NEXO comes at a time when the global hydrogen mobility sector is seeking ways to accelerate commercialization and reach broader consumer adoption. The new model is equipped with a 94 kW fuel cell and a 150 kW motor, delivering 204 horsepower and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds. Even more remarkable is its 720 km driving range, officially validated by South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Scaling fossil-free metal production in Scandinavia

Norwegian Hydrogen and GreenIron have signed a strategic agreement to scale up fossil-free metal production. The partnership combines green hydrogen with an innovative ore reduction technology, enabling a drastic reduction in carbon emissions. The collaboration aims to accelerate the commercialization of sustainable solutions for heavy industry and position Scandinavia as a leading region in climate-neutral metallurgy.

French firm teams up with JetZero on hydrogen-powered flight

French startup SHZ Advanced Technologies announced a partnership with U.S.-based JetZero to explore a hydrogen-powered variant of its futuristic all-wing aircraft design. The two companies will collaborate under a NASA program focused on developing systems to store and distribute liquid hydrogen fuel – a solution that could eliminate carbon emissions from aviation entirely.

The initiative comes as Airbus slows its hydrogen aircraft plans and Boeing remains doubtful about the technology’s viability. Meanwhile, JetZero is aiming to fly its first full-scale prototype of the revolutionary 250-seat blended wing-body aircraft by 2027, while SHZ is working on next-generation hydrogen tanks designed to save space and integrate seamlessly into the Z4’s aerodynamic fuselage.
