The EU plans for 50 Hydrogen Valleys by 2030

The EU has made advancements towards having at least 50 Hydrogen Valleys under construction or operational by 2030. The European Commission aims to work closely with Member States and stakeholders following the recent revision of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan, in order to implement the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the ERA Pilot on Green Hydrogen.

The EU has made advancements towards having at least 50 Hydrogen Valleys under construction or operational by 2030. The European Commission aims to work closely with Member States and stakeholders following the recent revision of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan, in order to implement the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the ERA Pilot on Green Hydrogen.

On 25 June, the EU published a Staff Working Document on its progress in building a European hydrogen economy. Notably, the bloc has made advancements towards having at least 50 Hydrogen Valleys under construction or operational by 2030. Furthermore, the document highlights the strategic priorities and actions currently ongoing or planned in this field. Of particular importance is the Commission’s aim to work closely with Member States and stakeholders following the recent revision of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan, in order to implement the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) of the ERA Pilot on Green Hydrogen.
